Founded in Grove City, Ohio, The Art of Skin Esthetics Academy was created with a clear purpose: to provide focused, hands-on esthetics education that prepares students for real careers in a growing and evolving industry.
Our goal is to offer more than just technical training. We are committed to cultivating confident, knowledgeable professionals through practical experience, thoughtful instruction, and ongoing support. Hands-On Esthetics Education

Meet Our Team
Gabriela Thompson
Director of Operations & Instructor
Hi! My name is Gabriela Thompson. I have been a Licensed Advanced Esthetician since 2012 and Licensed Esthetics Instructor since 2020. I started my journey in Illinois, attending CIDESCO accredited school - New Age Spa Institute and absolutely loved my time spent there. I felt prepared for my State Board testing and the start of my career. Shortly after I got certified, we moved to Ohio and I was working for a couple of very upscale Spas and a Medical Spa in Columbus. I always wanted to be a teacher and my dream was fulfilled when I got a position in one of the local Esthetics Schools. Shortly after I was hired I decided to open The Art Of Skin Academy and provide students with the same experience and sense of support and education I had at NASI. I am very passionate about this fun, changing industry and all the aspects it has to offer. I hope to meet you soon!

Hey there! I’m Lexi, a licensed Esthetician since 2012, small business owner since 2015, and a licensed Instructor since 2022. My passion for skincare began while battling my own acne as a teen and young adult, but in 2013, my love for lashes took over when I took my first Eyelash Extension class. Since then, I’ve specialized in Lash Extensions and opened 614 Lash Bar, which has been an incredible adventure! Teaching Esthetics is one of my favorite things—I love seeing my students thrive, from completing their first service to discovering their niche. I’m here to help guide you on your own amazing journey! See you soon.

Hi! I'm Katelyn. My journey into the beauty industry began with a desire to break free from traditional work and pursue something more creative, nature-inspired, and meaningful. What started as a curiosity turned into a deep passion for skin health and helping others feel confident. I’ve spent over a decade as an Advanced Esthetician, working across Columbus—from fashion shows in the Short North to spa settings in Pickerington, Gahanna, and Dublin. I’ve had the pleasure of working with brands like Aveda and Waxxpot, running my own studio at Salon Lofts, and even doing makeup for Columbus Alive’s cover. I specialize in results-driven treatments like chemical peels and brow transformations, but I also love instant-gratification services like spray tanning—and I secretly adore full-body massage. In 2024, I followed my heart into education, earning my instructor’s license to help guide the next generation of estheticians.
Rylie Blankenship
Lash Education Instructor
Rylie is the owner of Pretty Girl Esthetics and Pretty Girl Studios and has over five years of experience as a Lash Technician. She is a Board-Certified Instructor who teaches Lash Extensions and Brow Shaping at The Art of Skin Esthetics Academy.
Her classes combine in-depth theory with hands-on education, ensuring students gain both certification and long-term understanding of lash and brow services. Rylie is passionate about mentorship and supporting students as they grow in their careers.
